Default Relocating to Harriman, TN - question!

We're (finally!) relocating back to Tennessee and think we've found the perfect home on Sewanee Street in Harriman. Could anyone tells us about this area specifically before we make the trip to see the house? Thanks!

What portion of the area aren't you familiar with? That neighborhood in particular or Harriman in general? Or Roane County in general?

Just that street/neighborhood in particular - my parents are fairly familiar with the county/outlying areas.

We did some drive-bys in the Bazel Road area, which is across Rte 27 and down a bit.

That area was pretty run down and we didn't even continue to look for the property we were interested in.

Since the street you're looking on is "across the tracks" I'd think yours would be the "good side of the tracks", Lord willing!

Good luck!

My parents lived for 70 years on Cumberland St.---one street north of Sewanee. Since I grew up in Harriman, I could probably help you with information. But notice, I am now 86 years old. However, I have recently visited Harriman and know the present lay of the land. Don't fail to give me the address, I can probably reconstruct the exact house---though some basic description might be helpful in addition.
