Interesting. Crossville is now trying to compete with Cookeville for "growth" I noticed most of the areas they showed was lake tansi and the park.

From my understanding from the locals when I was their in June 07. Crossville had 3 ceramic tile plants near I-40. My understanding was 2 have shut down and one is only 1-2 shifts a day.Their are a number of manufacturing plants along the I-40 cordier. Oreck has a plant in Cookeville and several other national manufacturing companies have plants with in 50 miles of Crossville. Did not see much manufacturing in the Lake Tansi area. The area is beautiful.!!! As other post on this topic Cookeville is for the younger people and families and the Crossville - FairField Glade are for the retired and Lake Tansi looks like a mix of both. Just a beautiful place
