Smile Putnam County, Upperman and Monterey among nation's top high schools.
UPPER CUMBERLAND -- Five of this region's high schools, including two in Putnam County, have been named by a news magazine as among 1,591 of the nation's top high schools.

Monterey High and Upperman High here in Putnam County earned a "bronze" category ranking in U.S. News & World Report's first ever ratings of the best high schools in America.

Great news for anyone who has kids in this area and also for people moving to this area. JMT will be happy to see this as he often answers questions from people inquiring about schools in the area.
