My grandmother was named Eunice Palestine. She kindly asked that no children be named in her honor No problem, Grandma! She was a wonderful woman.

Well, I guess Iva is okay, considering that my other grandmother's name was Bertha!

Live up to your name. Change it if you must!
My one grandmother on my mother's side was Lydia Bubb. My mother ended up being Freda Lydia Mitcheltree Hepler. What a moniker! She was a pretty Freda.

What do you think about this one?
My mother named me Phoebe Rose Alayna Green. My father's grandmother name was Phoebe, his mother's name was Rosie, and they called his grandmother by her middle name which was Evalina. I hated my name and was ashamed of it until i was about 28 years old. Now i love my name!

That is a great name, Phoebe! I like Grandmom's name too - Evalina. Never heard it before.

I agree, I love the name Phoebe, too. I have an absolutely adorable 5yo niece named Phoebe. She was born in Johnson City, so I guess 5 years ago at least one baby in Tennessee was named Phoebe. Her name is actually Phoebe Elise which kind of rolls off the tongue as one word: "Feebelees."
I really enjoy reading all these posts of everyone's names. And I agree with what many of you have said, I'm glad to see some "old-fashioned" names coming back in style.
