Citiots guide to rural living hehe
Hope I don't offend but this is funny lol
Stolen from another forum:
"This was created by a woman in the Ventura area who is active in her community with attempts to integrate relocating city folks into rural areas.
She came up with a flier for inclusion in relocation packets Realtors (or other agencies) can provide to folks moving from urban areas to rural.
It's a PDF file and she has given anyone permission to print as many copies as they need."

A lot of good insight in that flyer--and the pre-emptive scolding is gentle, but firm. Good find!

That is a GREAT pamphlet for anyone moving to a rural area to read. Some really good info in there. I have seen a bunch of it happen. Not to say the "new comer" was rude or anything, they just didn't know. And face it, until some one teaches you something, you don't know it.
Heck, you should have seen hubby and I try to figure out how to get on a bus in Manhattan! Not as east as it sounds LOL!

Here's one I hate......the neighbors who use a leaf blower on about 2 acres around their house. And they love to start it up on a beautiful peaceful morning and will be at it all weekend. If the leaves bother you so much, move back to town and the concrete. Or, how about some exercise with a rake.

That was great. I would love to leave some at a few realtor's offices here and underline the part about honking your horn as you speed by folks on horseback and the part about feeding other peoples livestock. I found out a fellow had been dumping buckets of apples over the fence at the far end of my pasture while I had been trying to keep the weight down and prevent my horses from founder. Bless his heart, he didnt know.

Great! I am tempted to stick a copy in my neighbor's mailbox. Although we are a rural, farming town, and she was born and raised here....she is "too good" for everyone else. Reminds me of the time she called to say she was have a bbq and would I not put my horses in the back paddock. Bet you can all guess where the horses spent that day.
