Cuties In Norris
I was at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris last week and had one of those "Oh my God, they're so cute" moments when I was leaving and stopped to look at the sheep and the goats and realized there were some new offspring. If anyone heard me talking to these three (2 kids and a lamb) it would have been embarassing but I have never seen anything so cute in my life.
The ewe and her baby were the cutest and she was very protective but the little black goat, who kept getting pushed around by big rams when he tried to horn in while they were eating, had one of those "whatever" moms. He mostly hung out with his sibling who was less frisky.
If anyone here is familiar with farm animals can you tell by looking at these photos how old the little ones are?
Here are the goats with their mom (will put the sheep in a separate post):

I think I have recommended the Museum of Appalachia before to visitors. If you only come during Tennessee Fall Homecoming you miss some of the animals because of the crowds.

That black goat has mischief written all over him.
When he grows up he'll be one of those goats that butts you if your turn your back on him.

LauraC, you are apparently an expert when it comes to separating the sheep from the goats (heh heh).

I'll take those "kids" anyday!
LauraC, they are adorable. How fortunate for you to be there at this time of the year.
They don't look like they could be more than a couple of weeks old. But, I am only guessing. I know kids, but just the ones with 2 legs!!

Not bad, for a suburbanite, eh?
It's pretty easy when the little goats follow their goat mother around and the little sheep follows his sheep mother. Uhm, I know who fathered that multi-colored goat, too. I've seen that guy goat.
The sheep have curly fur and the goats have straight fur. That's my id other method.

Oh my gosh, they are soooooooooo cute. I'd be saying all kinds of cutesy things to them too. LOVE baby animals. That baby sheep can come and live with me.
