From what I have gathered the main teacher will be a Dr JMT. Those moving here prior to March 1 will be able to take advantage of the classes, but should contact our adult education coordinator, Mrs. Gemthornton, for registration. World renowned photographer LauraC will be providing photos for farm animal identification! The classes will culminate in a field trip to the Bones Homestead. knoxgarden will be offering extra credit for those wanting to tour the flower gardens and a special recognition will go to the student identifying the most flowers correctly. While there the class will be able to mingle with many big wigs from the Nashville music scene, courtesy of akm4. Hiknapster will be providing cable service so that these classes can be broadcast throughout the state. Unfortunately, mice get the animals riled up so we will have to ask mbmouse to keep the home fires burning at home. We had hoped that GoodbyeHollywood would be able to write our course description, unfortunately she is holed up freezing to death in her dirty house. We are looking for sponsors for the barbecue/graduation exercise. If you will be able to volunteer to help with that let us know.

If you would like to participate in this effort please sign up below and include your special talent(s). Please note, this is a pilot program! If successful, these classes will be rolled out to transplants from NY, FL, and other states.

Thanks for your support. And no moo-calling please!
Very good point. I have some new neighbors from Jersey and here a couple more that should be added to the list.

1. We stop on the roadside for passing funeral presessions, please stop giving us the finger when we do this.

2. We also so know that everything is better in Jersey so please stop telling us. BTW, why did you move to Tennessee?

3. There's other football teams besides the Eagles. Try a saturday afternoon in October at Neyland Stadium and you'll see what I'm talking about.

All joking aside, I really like my neighbors from Jersey. They just need a little time to get adjusted. We took them to a couple UT games last year and I think it blew them away. I will give it up to our Jersey girl, she can flat out cook some sea food.
Hope you find a great home in TN........cherokeelake

Ha! Fun. I have never heard of California Howdy! Sheet far has also been called chit fire.

One time someone flipped my Mom off in traffic. She followed them inside the bank on Eastman Rd in Kingsport, us kids in tow, and went to the person in the bank teller line and let her know exactly what she thought of the California howdy. When she was finished the other customers started clapping. I was probably no more than 10 and remember it clearly! In this day and age she might get shot doing that!

That is priceless!! I love it!! But you forgot someone:

"SmokyMtnGal will provide valuable real estate advice and will help with getting newcomers hospitalization in case all the biscuits, Grainger County tomatoes, chess pie, BBQ pork, Tennessee Tea Cakes and Moon Pies don't agree with sensitive New Jersey digestive systems."
