Default Your favorite restaurants around east Tn

My wife and I really like getting out with friends and trying new restaurants around east Tn and I thought I would see what's some of your favorite places to eat.

Here's a few of mine.....

1. Fox & Hound Newport, Tn It use to be a lot better before the new owners took over but it's still a great place to eat. Some of the best French Onion Soup around. Full bar

2. Angelo's on the Green Baneberry, Tn Never had a bad meal there and it is located beside the clubhouse at Baneberry Golf Course. Full bar

3. The Point Dandrige, Tn Tommy Angelo took over this place last year and it's a great place to eat during the summer. The patio over-looks Douglas Lake and The Point Marina. Full Bar

4. Smokey's in Morristown and Dandrige has some great BBQ. They serve beer only at the Morristown location but the building in Dandrige is a lot nicer. BBQ is good but also try the smoked ribeye.

I'm sure I will come up with more, just can't think of many right now. For anyone that use to eat at the Black Oak Marina on Cherokee Lake, the new owners are in the process of building a new building and I'm pretty sure East Tennessee Wings & Grill will be the new occupants. Food just taste better on the water, can't wait.

Please post up some of your favorites, I love to try new places. Thanks......Cherokee Lake

I forgot about Ronnie's, very good food. The only thing I've had at the Wing's & Grill are their wings and they were pretty good.

Local favorite, (Townsend).... "The Back Porch" nutin' fancy.... but excellent ribs (wet).

Usta be "Eatz-on-the Creek"... but I'm afraid it's closed.

I prefer the small mom and pop type places. Make it my business to go look for the out-of-the-way eateries. Good groceries, nice people, new friends.

Dave, do they still play bluegrass at the Front Porch? We use to go up there several years ago and I can't remember what night it was on.

Riverview, I had lunch at a great little hamburger joint last summer and I can't remember the name or where it's at. A friend took me over there and I couldn,t tell you where we were. I know the place has been there a long time, they have little juke boxes on the tables, and they are famous for their onion rings. Do you know what the name of this place is? Great hamburgers and rings.
