I read alot about east & middle TN. Don't hear too much on the west. My mother moved to Benton County. It's beautiful there. Thinking of moving out that way too. Is it hard to find work? My husband is in construction. I'm in retail.

My sister lives is Benton County, and my other sister, BIL and I all just bought there this summer. It is a lovely area; no mountains like E. Tn but lots of Hills 'n' Hollers, and Kentucky Lake.

We're all retiring there, so work isn't a consideration for us. I understand it is a little scarce, though Paris is very close, and Jackson is about 45 minutes on I-40.

My job sometimes takes me to West Tennessee. Maybe I'm not being very objective in that I like most rural areas, but the scenery and the people I've met there are quite nice. It just seems that the region is not doing as well economically as most other portions of the state in terms of pay scale and job opportunities. But living costs are probably lower.
