Hello everyone,
I really need your help settling a current family argument. My family and I are planning to take road trip to Alpine Mountain Chalet in February. We are 15 total, of those 15..5 are children ages 1-9. Anyway, we are debating whether to rent 2 mini vans or a 15 passenger sprinter. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Please help us with any feedback! We are dying to get out of flat Florida (lol) and enjoy a nice trip with the family. Thank you in advance.

That is very true! But do you think it will be comfortable enough? Just thinking of this many hours is giving me anxiety lol.

How many hours of driving? If you can have more than one driver and make few stops your time driving can be cut down a bit. Just make sure everyone gets out at every stop and uses the bathroom and decide on 2 head counters and both of you do separate head counts before you leave.

According to google maps it is 10hr 15min. Two of the 5 children are 1 yr olds. I am also concerned about luggage space. If we do the 15 passenger we will be at maximum capacity. Everyone is inexperienced in driving in snow and mountains, lol.

Everyone is going to have to pack light and not take everything including the kitchen sink. One bag per person, supplies for the babies can be purchased after you get there so only take what is necessary for the trip there. Please find someone who can drive safely in the ice and snow.

With that many family members I would do two vehicles. Gives more options.

Should we wait till we get there to buy the bigger coats and snow gear we will need? I think that would be the only issue in trying to pack light. Lol about the kitchen sink. There are a few who pack A LOT!

Two minivans, and try to get ones with full roof racks so you can also rent/borrow two roof-top cargo carriers for luggage. You'll never be able to carry adequate luggage for 15 (including 2 babies) in a single Sprinter.
