Ug, what a night. Late to bed and then being woke up at 2:30 in the morning, then back up at 4:30. Coffee!!!
This morning they are reporting that at least 13 people have been killed, many more hurt. I've heard different estimates of the number of actual tornadoes.

That was a fire at a natural gas pumping station in Hartsville, which is 40 miles or so northeast of Nashville.

Very Bad Bad Night
Yes gang: Bad NEWS on " The Doorstep" this am. Early reports at least 13 dead in TENN< . Maybe 11 dead in Arkansas.
That fire north of Nasville at gas facility sounds bad , really have to wait till daylight for final reports/headcounts.
Seems to be over Cleveland, Tenn at 7:45am, Still back to Atlanta and north to Knoxville some Bad Cells. NO time of year is good, but Feb strange, sad, with welcome record heat yesterday low 70's.
Later Gang.

Gas company doesn't expect any casualties from the pumping station since no workers were on the premises. Looks like a tornado touched down in the area. Any casualties in the area will be from that and not the fire at the pumping station. At least that is what it looked like in the early morning hours.

I was just watching the news, death toll is up to 45 now. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by those horrible storms. Please be safe out there.

This morning I drove from Bellevue in southwestern Davidson County to MetroCenter, which is just northwest of downtown. I didn't really see any damage along the way; not even any street lights out.
The major damage seems to be in small pockets here and there; one in Fairview in Williamson County, one in Sumner County, and a few other areas. It didn't leave a large swath of damage in Middle Tennessee from what I can tell, but the news reports are still coming in.

Looks like Nashville was spared any major damage. It sure was a wild night though. We stayed up all night with the Channel 2 weather team. The video of the gas pumping station fire was spectacular and eerie.
