So very sorry for everyone affected by these twisters. I still want to move to TN...and next time I start to gripe about how bitterly cold, windy & wet it is here in upstate NY.....well, I'll stop myself & say a prayer for the tornado victims.

We were so lucky here in Nashville. One deadly storm was right on track for us but for an unknown reason lifted and past over us. Then it touched down on the other side and began its deadly course again. When they showed the storm's radar path tonight on the news, it was unbelievable. It literally skipped over Nashville.

I certainly know how you feel. It was headed for Murfreesboro after Nashville but missed us as well. This being my first experience with a Tornado Warning since I moved here was pretty unnerving. The only thing I could think of was "Where do I go?". Somehow being here makes me feel so much worse for the victims than I used to and I always felt bad.

And . . . the effort to help our neighbors has already begun. One of the local TV stations is hosting a tornado relief fund drive tonight. This in addition to all the people who have already been out with chainsaws, pickup trucks, and a shoulder to cry on.

Feel sorry for those who lost their homes or, even worse, someone in their family. But don't feel sorry for those of us who live here. We'd rather have good neighbors and an occasional tornado then uncaring neighbors in an island of calm.

Okay, I'd get off the soapbox now. I'm alleycat and I approved this message. ;-)

Default Wish we could do more to help.

We approve of your message too, alleycat.

It is a tragedy for everyone in the five states involved. There are so many caring people. A gentleman from the Scottish Isles posted today expressing his concern. There are trucks being loaded and on the road already from Georgia with clothing, food, tools, household items, etc.

This is one of those events we all fear, but rarely experience. We do want to comfort and pray for everyone touched by this storm because we have also been touched, just not physically injured. Thoughts and prayers now to those suffering in TN, MS, AL, AR, and KY.

No, I was not referring to you, or anyone in particular. This thread has sort of turned into a "express what you're thinking" thread.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
