and next on your ban list - ALABAMYBOUND!! This guy is a real nutcase (and yes you probably want to delete this post after reading it). You might want to do an IP check comparison to his previous banned names - MisterMiester,MrMiester,CountyProsecutor, and probably a half dozen other names none of us know about.

Don't know if it is the same person or not. But I can't ban or delete a post/poster just because I don't agree with them. Everyone has a right to their opinion of an area as long as they post it in a polite, informative way. Actually, I can't argue with some of the things they said. TN isn't paradise and it does have it's downfalls, what place doesn't? But it sure works for me and my family!

Trust me he's the same person, I thought you guys had an IP check to his previous membership unless he finally got smart enough to reset his IP. But yes I agree he was relatively well-behaved on that post and I have no problem with it, he's good for chuckles in any event.
But anyways, getting off topic here...

Why?
Why would you ban "Alabamybound" based on that post? What is so terrible about it? He's stating his opinion, and I agree with a lot of what he says.
Granted, Tennessee is a big state and I have only seen a tiny corner of it. I'll go along with that. AND I really like Chattanooga.
But I have no idea why he should be banned based on that post.

Someone from Alabama is making fun of Tennessee? ??
But much of what s/he said is true, there are a lot of poor areas in Tennessee and a lot of uneducated people. But so what? What's wrong with that? Some of the best neighbors I have ever had have been people who were poor and uneducated. And some of the lousiest neighbors I have ever had have been snooty rich people with advanced degrees.
You can find it all in Tennessee, so just take your time and explore this beautiful state and all the many kinds of people who make it such a fun place.

No, no, no. You miss the point I was trying to stress and I thought I clarified that. Heck I make fun of Memphis all the time. But he is a banned member and the published TOS says you can't have more than one user name. Needless to say a banned member won't be allowed to have another user name. But like I said, keep him around, he's good for a few laughs and livens the place up.
Now let gets back on topic and mods feel free to delete these off topic subjects.

I live in Maryville, TN...
Maryville is considered a small town and is in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. If you actually want to live IN the foothills, you should consider Townsend, TN which is only 15minutes east(?) of Maryville. Maryville is only 20 minutes south of Knoxville.

Out of Staters
Aren't there many many people from other states moving in? What cities are the most popular for people that are transplants? Where I live now we have several cities known for this.

Oh, boy. That's a big issue. I live in Knoxville and yes, there are lots of outsiders moving in. Lots of Floridians. The locals are not happy. It also makes it tough to get a job.
On the Alabama board they are talking about Chattanooga not being very welcoming to outsiders, too. Lots of people couldn't get a job and moved away.
My husband and I are finally decently employed, but it took awhile. For that reason, we will probably stick it out. Once my husband found someone to give him a chance (he had to take a job at very low pay but got a huge raise after three weeks) they ended up being very satisfied with his work.
I finally got hired by a half-backer, but I am aware that whoever my trainer is may make a difference. I start Monday. If he/she doesn't want me there because I am an outsider they will find a way to get rid of me.
That's what we've faced here in East Tennessee.
