how can Arkansas, rated worst, have no strengths? the whole list seems based. if you lopped off Memphis, TN would be awesome!

Most of the residents who complain about TN live in the "perfect" city of Nashville.

Sounds liked rather biased, agenda heavy "journalism" to me. But hey West Virginia caught a break!

People pick a random set of a few statistics depending on their agenda. One specific type of tax, one specific type of crime, one specific measure of education, one specific measure of employment, one specific measure of health, and/or one specific measure of happiness. Ignore all other metrics.

So say, gather published data on sales tax (ignoring exemptions and extras), reported forcible rapes, graduation rates, and obesity. Next crunch the numbers giving random weight to your preferred metrics. Then publish the results. Done! Now wait for people to click through all the slides and cash the ad checks!

These lists are worthless. Always have been and always will be.

I totally agree. I have long said that these "lists" and surveys are totally worthless. They are all based on whatever agenda they publisher has and are not a very accurate view of the real world. I tend to just ignore them. Anyone can massage the statistics to make them work for whatever their agenda is. Best not to put any real faith in any of them.
