That is a wonderful idea, carolmcb! We have friends who own border collies and the sweet dogs think that they are being punished if they don't get to run around all day. They just love herding. It is play to them.

Kind of like being a mom!! The world's first herders, you know.

Default Herders

Carol
What a great suggestion. Having my own herder (a GSD), I know exactly how gentle but determined species belonging to the herding group perform.

carolmcb is on a distinguished road
A year or so ago I saw a few different shows on the Animal Channel about using Border Collies to help airports and golf courses keep the bird population down. I too love Border Collies but know that they have to have room to run and people to pay them attention. Unfortunately, I just can't keep dogs at the present time. I really envy those that have the room to have canine companionship.
