I currently live in Kingsport, Tennessee but I will be moving in about a year. I am looking for a small cozy town in East Tennessee. I love the mountains, snow and the outdoors. I am looking for small, quiet , peaceful town to call home that would be a good place to live with my son. I don't need a mall just some wooded areas to explore and friendly people. I want to live in a town that is not concerned with growing and a town that wishes to preserve the natural habitat for future generations. I also want a town without any major factories such as Eastman, any recommendations would be appreciated.

I was gonna say Erwin but the Nuclear Fuel Services thing might be too much for you.

Elizabethton could work well.

Cosby, Rogersville...

Finding a small town closer to the mountains with a good school system that's not interested in growth is gonna be a hard one. Greeneville and its city school system could be a really good fit for you, potentially.

Have you thought about over the mountain, too? Marshall, Hot Springs, Mars Hill, Valle Crucis...

I used to live in Maryville but it's growing so a couple that pop into my mind are Cosby and Dandridge areas.
