Default Ghostly TN tales

Is anyone familiar with this site? Has anyone who lives in these towns ever heard any of these stories or been intrigued by ghost stories? Or if there is any thread of truth to the tales?

Ghosts exist but they're not of the Hollywood variety e.g., swinging axes, pulling people to unspeakable terrors, etc.

Being intelligent entities, an artifact of, or, one might argue, complete beings who have not crossed over to the other side, they stay here in familiar surroundings until some event or person convinces them to move on. This is why they refuse to perform on cue for these idiotic TV ghost shows; they want to perpetuate who and where they are and view us as the intruder rather than the other way around and don't feel that they have to answer to anyone.

Certainly their appearance startles and frightens us who live in a material world whose "rules" don't leave an explanation for them. I'm convinced that, barring some exceptions, they can not in general be photographed but rather project their image into the mind of the person to whom it wishes to appear thus their "appearance" is not physical but rather psychic, in the mind of the viewer.

These are temporarily misdirected souls who will eventually find their true home. The evidence for their existence is overwhelming but discomfiting to many who fear the subsequent logical implication, i.e., that there is an afterlife with all that that weighty and life-defining concept entails.

Oh, I love ghost stories!! Have had several experiences myself that cannot be explained. I really believe that there is another plane of existence that is hard for us to understand now, but may become clear when we reach that point.

I have actually seen the light at Flintville, too. It first appears as a distant glow down the railroad track, then quickly solidifies into one bright light that begins moving up the tracks toward you. You can tell it is moving because the shadows of the trees move as it passes by them. I panicked when the light didn't seem to be slowing and begged my friends to start the car and leave there. As soon as the engine started, the light went out. Honest....

Gee, I hope not. I can't understand the plane I'm on now . . .

Yes the Bell witch cave is in Adams, in Robertson County north of Nashville. Mr. Bell (I cant seem to remember his first name!) is the only person in history to ever be killed by a supernatural being (in this case the bell witch). The witch poisoned his medicine or something and it killed him. Many people have taken rocks and such from that cave and have suffered great losses, and sometimes travel thousands of miles just to return them. Theres a documentary style movie that came on the History channel- its also on youtube. Check it out. Kinda creepy...
