I go to the Walmart near the mall all the time and the collegei is across the street. The homes aound that area seem nice . I am not overly sure of the living there, I shop there often. I travel down 25e ,it is very pretty with the lakes and the mnt views.

It's a safe place to stay. Motels are decent. I used to stay in that area when I would come up for races at Bulls Gap, before I got smart and moved to Knoxville.
If you are coming in the Weekend of Feb. 29-March 1, make sure you get reservations in advance. Bulls Gap has a big race that weekend and the motels will fill up.

This is a tentative trip March-April. I was looking at the new Holiday Inn. It's been 10-12 years since I was in Morristown..... I was trying too orient myself on the location, I have a good guess...... I had read a number of post over the last several months that lead me too believe that Morriston was in decline. I can remember when they built the elevated side walks some where down town?.......I was looking at some property out on Cherokee Lake..... Thanks

There is a new Holiday Inn Express but it is on the expensive side. The area is good place to stay for checking out the lakes. Also the Holiday Inn at exit 8 at hwy 25E & I81 is very nice and not that far from College Sq.

The Holiday Inn at right off I-81 shares a parking lot with a Cracker Barrel, which is handy. The one near College Square has more restaurants. You won't recognize the area where the Wal-Mart is. It's booming.
If you don't have a GPS with you, print out really good maps. The Morristown area is the most confusing I've ever tried to navigate. They rebuilt the 11E/25W interchange several years ago which made the 11E/Andrew Johnson Highway split even more perplexing than it was.
