Did someone say train?
We are an entire family of train freaks LOL
We have the TN Valley Railroad Museum here in the 'nooga and visit often. The old steamers are my favorite and we have the 4501 here at our station. Dorky as it may sound, that whistle can bring tears to my eyes every time lol
Here's an old TN train thread you might like:

Have you ever gone on Google and searched for the old brass whistle. The small ones you would have too get a second mortgage.
Nothing like a steam whistle off in the distance echoing threw the mountains.

Those are SO spendy. I saw a cool event for whistles on your link that I will have to put on my calendar! That would be fun
Speaking of trains, one of my favorite depots is in Spring City. I think the chamber of commerce is in it now. It is amazing! If you haven't seen it yet and you get a chance you should check it out.

Bakewell RR
T: Good web link, will read more later. Have plenty of time today, rode cycle out of woods last night with a knee cut/injury from a hand tool !
Upstate NY all Dada family worked on the D& H .Blue / yellow RR. Have N scale layout, all HO went to kids in Maine. Lionel long gone from my Mother attic when I was young.
Chattanooga has that Model RR society HQ, and Library down near tourist train 153 exit 3? After last night Oscar, we should have that movie release soon starring George Clooney when they filmed the old time football story last spring on the Chatt rolling stock line.!
"J.W." we still need to get ya some Bakewell Narrow Gauge Track SPIKES from the coal incline Bed?? Spent last few days setting up free HP 2110 All in One from the BlueGrass music club for Sheet Music. Maybe mtn store jam tonight.

BB That WAS you!! Man, I will have to give you some reps AGAIN for that one. I actually own a copy of it now lol I imagine that some just would not get it but it's still in my top 3 movies of all time. Could you give me the area again so I can mapquest it? Maybe even a street or intersection near where the depot is?
PS I had some cafe con leche (SP?) recently and that's just about the only thing from that movie that I won't recommend LOL

Sure! The depot is located on Green Pond Road and I believe it's still Rockaway Township up there (07866). If you find Green Pond Road, follow it away from route 80 and you'll see the tracks cross about 10 miles up, near route 23.
(While you're scrolling up Green Pond, give a "virtual toot" as you pass Upper Hibernia Road, where we live!)
The Good to Go deli is located about 5 miles up Green Pond from route 80, right before the school on the right (if you were driving).
The Library is located in Hibernia which is about 4 miles up from route 80.
We're pretty sure the dirt road scenes (where she almost runs him over) take place on Split Rock Road near the reservoir (if you take Upper Hibernia Road, Split Rock Road is on the left about 1 mile off Green Pond).
The Golden Spike train shop (supposedly in Newark I think) as well as the Mill Lane Tavern they go to is on Main Street in Rockaway Borough, which is at the OTHER end of Green Pond Road (past route 80). (The tavern is right on the tracks so I reckon you could follow the tracks there too).
So there you have it, a railroad tour of our little "Un-New Jersey" town.
