For the last 1 1/2 years I have been watching TN gas prices in anticipation of our move to Athens in '08.

Tennessee prices were always 20 to 30 cents a gallon cheaper than up here in southern WI.

I did not check for a couple of months and boy-0-boy was I ever shocked to see TN has caught up with us.

Oh well, I is still coming to TN no matter what

Check gas prices at
GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada

Later Gator ,

The gas prices across the country are horrible. Crude was $110 a barrel, yesterday. I remember a couple of years ago, when the price hit $50, and it was huge news.

This country is in huge economic trouble, and the price of gas seems to be the final straw.

No paradise for the people in Hawaii.

"The average price in Wailuku reached $3.934 on Thursday,"

"The pump finally stopped at $97.20, which put 24.5 gallons in his Chevrolet Avalanche."

Does anyone know what the prices of fuel are on the water? I don't know how boaters can survive.

It's still $3.13 around here. I don't see crude going down, so I wonder if gas prices are still going to go up.

You've got that right! Funny thing is, we can't blame OPEC (not entirely). Much of the jump in oil prices is due to myopic, impatient investors dumping stocks and going into commodities such as oil and food grains; I believe these are the same people that brought the housing "bubble" to many parts of the country.

I wish the gov't had taken the $150 billion they spent on the "economic stimulus package" and applied it to a crash program of alternative energy development. We have got to get off of foreign oil or we are doomed

Unfortunately, commodities is where it's at. Gold is a stellar buy, too.

Alternative energy has shot up the price of things like corn. Why? Because we are self-centered gas hogs, and that isn't about to change.

And anyone with some active brain cells needed to pull their investment out of bank and mortgage stocks awhile ago. There is not much money to be made in the market right now. Due to the recession, what is a "buy?"

The value of the dollar is in the toilet. Bear Stearns had a run, and had to be bought out for $2 a share. The Fed dropped the rate on Sunday night to avoid a panic on The Street, two days before they were expected to meet.
He keeps this up, and Bernake is going to run through his playbook pretty quickly.

Asian markets have been slammed overnight.

Yep. We are doomed.

The American public and The Fed can't get out of their own way.
