How about that Lucky Eddy??
I don't think it would set any records but we don't have to drive in the slow lane going up the mountains. I pass as many vehicles as with any car we have owned. And it easily goes 90 down the mountains. But you have to know that we haven't owned many V8's for a long time. Another neat thing is that the Prius uses the electric motor to brake the car until you slow to 8mph, unless you have to do a "panic" type stop. So the brake pads last a long time. I checked at 25K and pads were still like new. Problem is that sometimes the rotors can rust on the surface because the pads don't keep them clean. In case you haven't looked closely, the Prius is a hatchback. I brought home a 42' flat screen TV in the Prius, couldn't do that in a sedan very well.
Among many "work cars" I've driven, a VW Rabbit diesel and 2 Honda CRX's all got better mileage than the Prius. But the A/C pulled power from the engines in those and affected the acceleration. The Prius uses electric for the A/C, so I can't even tell when its on. The Prius isn't for everyone, but I like it.

Back OT, gas here locally today is $3.199.

Gas is still less than $3 here in North Knoxville. At the Cherry Street exit on I-40 today gas is $2.97 at Weigel's and $3.07 across the street at some no-name place. Very strange.

The lowest prices I've seen posted in the Nashville area in the last week were from $2.999 to a little over $3.

I paid $2.99 at Ingle's, yesterday. With my card it was $2.89. No ethanol and the gas is fantastic. You can't beat it.

Cool Hey, you guys! Let's see some cash here!

We are at $3.29 here today (Wed. now! It's 12:20 am) in N. GA. I am really limiting my trips out.

My son's car blew a head gasket last Friday and DH still can't get in or out his car since his surgery - so, all three of us are using just my car!

There is only one of us buying gas, however. Guess who?

At the local station near my house, in beautiful Sonoma County, CA, it was $3.41 this afternoon, 3/5. Not liking that much.
