Yeah but ya gotta admit, he is pretty funny.
BTW RIP, are you definitely going to the get together?
Pam

Hey Karen- should we be insulted or take it as a compliment that Rip thinks we have tall leggy shapely bodies? (well they are shapely... we just won't say which shape it is in, I'll give ya a clue, I'm like a shipwreck )

Hey everyone,

I'm just checking in to see if there are any updates......bbkaren, the Hoedown sounds great.....my hubby loves bluegrass!!

Wow, its been another long day of househunting, and I'm becoming very frustrated! We spent all morning in Kingston, and did find two places that look interesting, but neither jumps out at us and says..."Home"!!! And I have spent so much time researching the internet, that I know just about every home that is for sale within 100 miles!!!!! Unfortunately, they don't necessarily look as good 'in person' as they look on the computer!

Another wrinkle in the mix is that we must have enough room to park the boat, so some houses that we like, are eliminated because of the parking issue. And the more houses that we look at, the more we realize that we really want to downsize and don't want 3,000 square feet -- way too much wasted space for just the two of us!!

So, since we have exhausted the Oak Ridge area - we are going to spend tomorrow looking in the West Knox area. Unfortunately the weather is going to turn bad this weekend - rainy and REALLY cold. It is going to be 79 tomorrow, but by Sunday night it will be 31!! What's up with that????

I sure hope it heats up quickly so we have great weather on the 19th!! Jim and I will be arriving on Friday afternoon and will be staying at the Inn for two nights!! That means I'll be busy baking cookies on Thursday night

Bones.....I'm so glad to hear that your wife finally decided to schedule her surgery!! And really excited that you will both be at the get-together! And am happy to see that Gem has allowed you out of 'timeout'!!

Just 10 more days!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO
(Hopefully I'll be able to report that we have found our new home by then!)

Bette

I hope you have a more successful day with house hunting tomorrow, bebette. There is an awful lot of territory to cover. And, yes, that is E. TN weather!! It'll be wonderful next weekend - I feel it in my bones.

My DH and I have been looking at maps to FCF from Chattanooga at I-75 (coming up from Atlanta area), and boy are we at our wits end. Each site we check, including the Park website offer VERY different routes.

Can someone suggest a route that is fairly simple to follow and the most direct? You can DM me if you want or post for others if someone else is lost already!

I-75>>>>>Chattanooga 24West>> 27North>>111>> Pikeville>>>>>>> into the Falls Creek Falls

Mapquest states 2.75 hours 153 miles from Marietta,GA >>> Pikeville,TN

That's the 153 route.... I like the 24 because it's all 4 lane the 153 route the last 10-15 miles it's the burbs your driving threw..... before 27 north....

Come up the 111 great road and it brings you right to Fall Creek Falls entrance. That is the way I take all the time from Fl. No up and down steep mountain passes, just a great drive. Also if comming from Atlanta you will have to pick up the 27 and 153 before getting on the 111. I forgot which road comes first but I think I have it right. I will look it up in the am and let you know. Also you will drive thru a couple of small towns but it is not bad at all.
