Hi, My hubby and I are considering moving to the Ft. Payne area and would like anyone to give us any and all info on the area. We are coming from southern Alabama and are tired of the development. We would like an area not so darned hot, and not too cold. One with a lot of nature still left.
My husband is a certified welder, a certified heavy equipment operator and an experienced machinist. He also has sales experience. Any jobs that will fit his MO? Our oldest is starting college in Florida, but we will still have 2 left in elementary school. How are the schools? Thanks for the help Saundra |

Ft. Payne is a very nice town and is probably best known for being home to the musical group Alabama. Many residents do their major shopping in Chattanooga.

Then shouldn't this be in the Alabama forum?
