When desparate, even a shovel - not a spade -makes a great sled! Just sit on the shovel blade with the handle behind you and take off! Don't let that snow go to waste. Remove the back door to toboggan on if you have to!

We have used just about any flat surface available for our sledding days up North. Just use your imagination.
Gem, Bones, I found the other cheapo plastic round sled. I don't think I laughed so hard in ages.

Video of sledding - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I'll leave this clip up for a while for humor sake.

True that! What really ticks me off is that we are waiting another year so he can graduate at the school that he has attended since elementary (K-12) and he only has two more classes to take so I said to him, "You mean we have to stay in this hell hole another year so you can spend two hours a day in school with your buddies?"

Can't we just bring them with us?

Seriously Bones, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard! If I had a bigger sled I would have taken the hound with me.

I will neither confirm nor deny that my body feels every bump of the hill today.

Loved the video! That was great! I'm going to go buy a cheapo plastic sled for next year! Maybe Walmart will be having an end of the snow/sled season sale!

When I was a kid we used to steal those round Coke signs (or were they Pepis?) to make sleds out of. They don't put those up anymore, I don't think. Wonder why? ;-)

Probably because they kept getting stolen! I looked them up on the internet and you can still buy one for old time sake.
Coca-Cola Bullseye 16 Inch Metal Sign COCA COLA SIGNS - TRAYS Collectibles (http://www.2collectcola.com/page/ACC/PROD/SN/49S-Bull16 - broken link) Of course they cost more than the coke they were advertising LOL!

I remember having a big wood sled as a kid. It had a back on it like a chair. Me and my sister used to ride together on it. Geez that was a long time ago.
