Default Land, where to buy?

My husband and I have gone to TN twice now trying to purchase land to build a log cabin and move permanently. We have looked around Spencer. Do you have any suggestions of where else to look? Photos are lovely. Are you from TN?

Betsy

Well, there's still a lot of rural land in Tennessee. If you're looking for something scenic, you might look at some of the areas in East Tennessee.

I'm certainly from Tennessee.

I agree with alleycat. If you have no clue whatsoever where you wanna be, I guess you need to poke around this forum. Think about how far you want to be from a city (and which city), and make a circle around that city, start with those towns. That's what I did and it took me about 6 months (including a 10-day visit to the areas we thought we'd like) to decide on a town we were happy with. Good luck!

Are you working or retired? In other words, do you need to live near your jobs? If so, give us a radius in miles of the job location.

If you are retired, what do you and your husband like to do so people might recommend an area you'd like?

Do you have any needs? (Example: no sense in anyone recommending a place in East TN if you need to live near a major airport.)

My husband and I bought in spencer 5 years ago. We since have completed our log home and have made many wonderful friends! We do not live there full time yet, but hope to in the near future. I f I can answer any questions for you let me know. Will you need to continue to work if you move up there?

i can also give you a GREAT log home company and salesman to get in touch with if you are interested!
Mary
