I should also note on here that the 2015 numbers I used are from the previous estimates (last year's release). This year they revised (changed) some of the previous year's results. (i.e. lowered 2015 Davidson by ~500, and 2015 Shelby by ~2,000)...so the rates and change numbers may be a little different than what you might see in a news publication. However, you can still look at them as the change in what the reported number was last year, and the reported number this year.

I already had the previous years in Excel and ready to go...so that's why I used that.

Sumner is growing faster than Wilson now, which I always saw as unlikely for the near future. Guess I was wrong.

Sumner has been growing faster than Wilson in raw numbers for as long as I can remember. But Wilson is growing faster than Sumner in its rate (percentage) of growth.

Gotcha. For some reason, I thought Wilson had been growing faster than Sumner in raw numbers for the past few years.

Surprised Maury County (Such a Far Flung County) is Growing So Quickly (relatively) Go Maury Go

Surprised Crittenden County GREW! That county has been declining in population for years (decades)

I'm not really surprised by Maury County. We'll see the city growth numbers in May, but I'm certain that most of Maury's growth is in the Maury side of Spring Hill. The Williamson side has grown like crazy. I think the Maury side is seeing some serious interest due to price/proximity. It may not have the Williamson prestige...but the price is definitely attractive. And while Spring Hill Williamson schools > Spring Hill Maury schools, Spring Hill Maury schools > Columbia Maury schools.

The county overall may be "far flung"...but where the growth is happening isn't any farther than the "far flung" growth in Murfreesboro.

If it wasn't for Spring Hill, Maury would probably be in the same league as Robertson and Dickson Counties. Growing, but not quickly.

I'm also surprised that Crittenden grew. That may be a short term trend or anomaly.

West Tennessee (and eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi) aren't doing too well in general. I would love to see at least a stabilizing of the population (neutral net migration, at least).
