Post News, Glade Creek staying in Putnam County.

PUTNAM COUNTY -- A committee of the Putnam County Commission voted last night to keep the small community known as Glade Creek following a petition by residents to become part of neighboring Cumberland County.

The petition arose out of a problem with Glade Creek residents using the Mayland dump site in Cumberland County for their residential garbage.

That's such an odd little area. I mean odd in geography, not the people.

It's in Putnam County but isn't connected to the rest of Putnam County. So to drive from Glade Creek to anywhere else in Putnam County you have to go into either White County or Cumberland County. It doesn't make much sense.
