I'm interested in the pro & cons related;
* Yearly weather
* Housing...living in a residential neighborhood & away from close neighbors
* The influence of the college & culture...is there a war between old school and new school
* The religious culture and it's influence in daily life, especially downtown
* City services
* Closest major airport
* Whatever you want to share

I'll give it a shot..
Weather - You get 4 seasons. Snow is not the norm in winter but a wet cold is. Spring is nice. Summer is hot and humid and Fall is beautiful.
Housing - I'm less familiar with housing because I grew up there and at the time it wasn't a priority of mine.
College - Without TTU Cookeville would have probably been another small town on I-40. TTU is a great school (especially if you go into Engineering). TTU attracts culture to the town
Religion - I won't lie to you.. it is a bit overwhelming at times. There are alot of churches in Cookeville. I mean you are 80 miles east from the buckle of the bible belt so there is an influence there. However, its not nearly as much in your face as you would think. Cookeville is a great little town
City services - Honestly.. I'm sure they are just as fine as any other..
Closest major airport - BNA in Nashville
What I want to share - I remember when Cookeville didn't have "liquor by the drink". Back then the best restaurant in town was the Holiday Inn. The growth the town has experienced since then (in terms of new capital to the area) has been astounding. If you like 4 seasons, plenty of outdoor activities, a blend of liberal and conservative values (more weighted to conservative), hunting, fishing, hiking etc and a town that has a great hospital.. then Cookeville might be a town for you. If you are looking for Utopia.. Cookeville isn't it. Every town has its share of problems but all in all Cookeville is a great little town.
I don't live there anymore.. but I moved there when I was in 5th grade and went to undergrad there so I've spent some time there.
