I just moved to Knoxville from Dallas. I've seen less than 10 Mexicans in about 2 weeks. In Dallas, you would typically see that many piled into one extended cab truck going to mow lawns.

I'm sure its an issue to a certain extent, but TN has very little compared to the southwest part of the country.

And compared to florida. They are also drawn to Manchester, N.H. (why?-who knows) Seems like Bush will never enforce the borders; corporate lobbyists pay well to have him pander to their interests. It is NOT about us Americans, and protecting our borders. It's about $$$$$$$ only.

Since I started working, I've noticed more Mexicans in that area. I can't even eat lunch at Wendy's because the line is so long!

Still, a haven for illegals? Nah. I lived in Florida. This area does not even come CLOSE.

Manchester, NH? Boy that city has turned around. From beautiful, peaceful, New Hampshire now Manchester has problems with stabbings, gun crimes, etc... Wow this country will be great when Mexicans are the majority.

I am planning on leaving my increasingly liberal home State of Michigan and would like to relocate to a conservative, Christian friendly area. Tennessee and Wyoming are at the the top of my short list. I am concerned about the glut of illegals and the effect that they will have on employment and wages. Here in central southern Michigan they have driven wages down and kept them low.
Until we prosecute the companies that hire them to the point that it isn't economically feasble to hire illegals we will continue to have the problem. Inspite of what has been said in this forum, obtaining a drivers liscence makes it extremely easy to become a registered voter regardless of your citizenship. That is why the Dems are always pushing their "Motor Voter" programs.

AKA FLEX is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Hook 'em and drag 'em

If an illegal is found residing in the United States, he or she should be put into a human cannon and shot back over the border, no questions asked. I just cannot fathom why there exists anything other than a zero tolerance policy when it comes to illegal immigration. This will be a Spanish speaking country by 2025 if things don't change and change fast.

Please advise what can be said and what can't be. I thought we were all grown-ups with decent intelligence.

When I was manager at a S. Florida finance co., one of the reps there had 16 kids (I am not kidding) and his ""wife"" living in Manchester. The business owner gave him a winter coat for Christmas so he could go up and visit them. None of them had a visa/green card.

I have to agree, this thread has come to it's ending point and no longer just about TN. If anything else would liked to be discussed on this as a general subject, please take it to the "General topics" thread which you can get to from City-data forum home page.
