Hey all, as you all probably know by now we are considering a move to the franklin area. We are wondering now what the shopping is like. I know there is a mall there called the Cool Springs Galleria. Can anyone give me the down low on this? Is it newer? What kind of shops would you find there? High end...middle of the road? What kind of boutiques are there? Any good restaurants?
Any help, as always, is appreciated.

The Cool Springs Galleria is bigger than Tommy Lee's endowment. The entire Cool Springs area in general has every type of store, restaurant, etc. that you could ever want. Downtown Franklin (about 10 mins. from Cool Springs) has boutiques and crap like that. The only downside to the area is the horrible traffic, especially during the holiday season. But to answer your question, you'll find everything you're looking for in Franklin/Cool Springs.

Default Mall info

Try coolspringsgalleria.com You'll get a list of stores, food court, etc.

It's a nice mix of upscale and mid-level. Williams-Sonoma, Disney, Gap, Abercrombie, you get the idea. The anchor dept. stores include Macy's, Dillard's, Parisian, and Sears. Not a new mall, but totally remodeled this year, so that's nice.

For MAC or Betsey Johnson you need to go into Nashville to Mall at Green Hills.

Lots of restaurants in the galleria area, including the usual chain suspects. Some of our favorites are Wolfgang Puck Express, PF Chang's, Sake (Japanese/sushi), Jasmine (killer Thai), Cozymel's and Blue Coast Burrito.

If you need any more Franklin info, just ask.

Default Aka Flex

We were typing at the same time or I would have mentioned your refreshingly candid sense of humor in my last post.

WELCOME!!!! This place can get so freakin serious sometimes. Post often. Please.

P.S. Re: your 2 cents on the shops on the square.....I love "crap like that"!

I'm from Franklin, Cool Springs is really nice. I wouldn't say there are too many high end shops though.

You'll have to go to Green Hills for stores like Anthropologie and Z gallery. C.S.G. has a Brookstone and I've heard rumors of them getting either a Neimans or Nordstrom. As for the cuisines you mentioned. All with the exception French(which i'm not sure about) can be found in Franklin or Brentwood. If you would like more info on specific restaurants or stores feel free to P.M. me.

Default You and me both

I wish we had a Nordstrom too. That, and Trader Joe's!

The Indian place in CS closed, but there are several good ones in Nashville. Jasmine, again, is your best bet for Thai. There's another prominent one, but the curries and sauces from Jasmine are much, much better. Sue's Gyros (casual cafe) has decent Greek food. My daughter swears by the baklava. There's a new Persian place that just opened up....I'll find it. May be in Nash too. There's a taqueria in Franklin I haven't checked out yet. Looks like the real thing though. The paletas and fish tacos at Blue Coast Burrito are the fantastic. I'll add to this as I think of it.
