That doesn't include all hospitals, either. It doesn't have the hospitals in Cookeville, Crossville, Jamestown, Livingston, Sparta, Gainesboro, or Carthage. I haven't checked anywhere else. I just did a search for hospitals in a 50-mile radius of 38501 (Cookeville) and only 2 were listed: Lebanon and McMinnville. Oh well!

All the hospitals for Knoxville were included. I wonder why they didn't include all the hospitals in that area? Weird.

If I am not mistaken a healthcare entity has to pay a fee to be a part of Leapfrog. With Leapfrog a hospital has to fill out self assessments and turn them back in, they score the hospital against others and also let you know what you need to work on and what your priorities should be. Or something like that.

HERE WE GO!
This is the website that I used to assess Knoxville hospitals. As it turned out, they were all good.

Hospitals
Any of these hospitals going to need medical record coders in the next 5 yrs? My wife and I are looking to relocate to TN or KY then. Any coding managers out there, right now I have 12 yrs of experience in inpatient and outpatient (CPT) coding. My wife is looking to teach at a Christian school.

Over the next 5 years I am sure that there will be openings in the various hospitals. Are you looking now or later? Good, certified coders are hard to find. I can't imagine that you will have a difficult time finding work. Good Luck

My wife works at Cookeville Regional & she said there are three openings in medical records there right now.As much as they are growing & expanding I'm sure there will continue to be openings.

I talked with a lovely girl that works at the hospital there about a month ago. Very nice girl; I've heard lots of good stuff about that hospital.
