Cookeville News, Cameras may be used to catch drivers running red lights here.
COOKEVILLE -- The City of Cookeville is joining a handful of other Tennessee cities who have studied the use of traffic cameras as tools to catch drivers who run red lights.
This week, Cookeville officials will meet with three companies who specialize in red light cameras.

Ah,I knew they'd do it eventually...
Maybe it WILL make some of these habitual speeders/red light runners think twice when they start gettin tickets in the mail.
Will a lot of these people just start going out & stealing someone else's license plate now?

I am not surprised that Cookeville has joined the rest of growing small American towns. I think that many of our towns that are growing unexpectedly quickly find it easier to install the cameras - and probably less expensive - than to hire policemen just to chase down traffic law violators.
2 mares, you are too much, and I would suggest a camera on you at all times!!

I have heard that Johnson City, too, will be installing a few, notably at the Market St / State of Franklin intersection. Greaaaaaat, now we'll never get through the light!

Lol
When the revenue enhancement officers realize the traffic cameras are taking a big bite out of their cash intake, once folks refrain from running "pink" lights, they'll regret having them installed. Other places have or are considering taking them down. Reflective tag sprays negate positive I.D. and further the camera's costs.
