I think he was talking about the initial planning stages. Not everyone buys a house right away and it's better to rent until you know if you are going to stay long term. Planning ahead of time is very wise. 2011 will be here before you know it and if you don't plan well from the beginning and just wing it, you will be disappointed. At least that is my experience.
