I'm taking this one because I can't answer Eat's question offhand.

Firefly and ladybug.

What is the state animal? (And thankfully it's not the possum.)

Except the question was what is the state's largest "metro area" and not simply "metro."

The raccoon! Which I guess means it's illegal now to make authentic coon-skin caps which some early famous Tennesseans used to wear.

I discovered first-hand that the ladybug is an official state insect. When my house 5 years ago was inundated with Japanese beetles, I thought they were ladybugs and called an exterminator. He politely told me that if I had ladybugs there was nothing I could do because as the state insect, it's illegal to kill them. You have no idea how relieved I was to find out they really weren't ladybugs.

NEXT QUESTION:

In what Tennessee cities were the following famous people born:

Kathy Bates
Mack Brown (head football god at U of Texas)
Shannen Doherty
Aretha Franklin
Morgan Freeman
George Hamilton
Jack Hanna
Cordell Hull (Father of the United Nations)
Wink Martindale (cheesy game show host)
Chris Parnell (from SNL)
Wilma Rudolph
Cybill Shepherd
Lynn Swann (football hero of my youth)
Quentin Tarantino
Justin Timberlake
Reggie White (another football hero of my youth)

Chattanooga

Memphis is the only sevice port (A Service Port is a CBP location that has a full range of cargo processing functions, including inspections, entry, collections, and verification )

All other are points of entry (A Port of Entry is any designated place at which a CBP officer is authorized to accept entries of merchandise to collect duties, and to enforce the various provisions of the customs and navigation laws)

Andrew Johnson. Missed by one vote as I recall.

Who was the first Republican governor of the state since Reconstruction?

(At least I think he was the first.)
