If you want a bit more urban experience, you might enjoy the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood in Knoxville. It's just a few miles west of the university and downtown, so the neighborhood is full of college professors as well as bankers and lawyers who work downtown. It's an older, heavily wooded neighborhood with full-grown trees, jogging paths and large parks along the waterfront. Housing in Sequoyah Hills runs the gamut from large plantation style homes to craftsman bungalows to townhouses. The high school for that area is West High which because of the university influence has a solid curriculum.
