Default Visiting the area in a few weeks (schools, sports, housing questions)

We are coming to Tennessee in a few weeks. Mainly for a baseball tournament at Vanderbilt, but also because we are considering the area in a couple of years. We are planning to look at areas of interest, around Nashville.

Areas of interest: (in order of preference, right now, but could change)
Hendersonville
Murfreesboro
Possibly towns in between

I am liking the search results I've found for Indian Lake Elementary and Sumner County schools. I know that Spring Hill area has great schools too, but I've read that the drive to/from Nashville is just too far. We'd like to keep the drive to less than a half hour.

ETA: The company dh works for could possibly go to the Murfreesboro area, so that would cross Hendersonville off the list than, but for now we're planning on him being out of Nashville, until we get official word...

We are big in to baseball and so would like to hear about the youth sports programs in the areas we will visit.

We are looking for good strong schools - elementary through high school, good neighborhood to raise children and have things to do, we'd like to have a good sports program - since this is important to us and last, we'd like the commute to/from Nashville (more specifically Marriott Dr. area) to be less than a half hour. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, since my mind is a bit on overload with researching, getting ready for a busy baseball summer, etc...lol

We're excited to be coming to the area to have a look around. I know we'll be back a few more times before we finally settle there, in a couple years, so I'm sure I'll have more questions.

Thank you if you've gotten this far! lol

You should copy this post and post it directly to the "Nashville" area threads! You would get a lot more info that way Hendersonville is a great area for all that you mentioned, except for possible commute time! I am not really sure about the commute, but I have heard other people say that the traffic (especially during rush hour) can be pretty bad in that area. We are relocating to Hendersonville this Summer from NY! However commute was not an issue for us. Hubby will be working in Hendersonville Best of luck with your searches
