I second that, SMG!
While I agree that freedom of expression is generally a good thing, putting words in someone else's mouth-- especially bad words-- is a bad thing. Defamation trumps free speech, so go, Dolly, go! Kick butt! The only thing she needs to lighten up is Howie's wallet.

Ummm no, if we wanted to be accosted with foulness, we would just go live on the streets.
IMO.....only those with sick minds find humor or entertainment (if you can call it that) in Howard Stern.

The bits he did with Dolly are very common on the show. The way these audio bits are created--segments of "sound bite" are taken from various audio, interviews, quotes, etc., and edited to make them sound like the celebrities are "talking dirty or say something outlandish." It's really comical.
I love Dolly and I love Howard--both are extremely talented and gifted people. But, Dolly needs to lighten up and take a joke. It's all in good fun. I don't know why she's so personally offended. It's not personal, it's a comedic skit.

This is patently absurd! Dolly has more "talent" in her bra than Howard Stern could ever hope to have. Having said that, She probably stands little chance of winning this suit.

Well, I am one that is "entertained" by Howard Stern, and I do not have a "sick mind," that's for sure. It's quite the "sweeping generalization" you are making. As for living on the streets, that's just a silly thing to say. "Foulness" does not live on the streets alone--it can be found everywhere, including many places you'd expect not to find it.
I agree, Howard may not be for everyone. But my point of the previous post was that Dolly shouldn't take the skit personally. Howard takes aim at a lot of celebrities on his show, and it's for pure entertainment value.

Agreed about the talent. And agreed about the chance of winning.
I do love Dolly. If the two were to fight, I'd definitely be swingin' for Dolly.

Dolly Parton grew up in a one room cabin with her parents and her eleven siblings.
She is a living legend not because of the size of her chest, although that initially made her memorable, but for her songwriting ability. She has published about 600 songs, an incredible feat.
She is a "poor as dirt" woman that made good, right out of high school, due to her intelligence, business acumen and reputation for being a kind, philanthropic woman that never forgot her roots, to the point of boosting her local hometown's economy.
If she is not amused by Howard's antics that is her prerogative.
This may be Howard's shtick, but Dolly's reputation is incredibly authentic and also tied to the enormous industry that is Dolly Parton. Parody is covered by free speech, but it could get sticky under defamation of character laws and the fact that her character is so closely tied to her business.
