Fairfield Glade - manufactured homes
I am new to this so hope I am posting correctly.
I understand there are areas of FFG for manufactured homes. We have been investigating the area and it sounds like it has a lot to offer. My husband and I will be visiting there this coming summer. We hope to purchase and live in a manufactured double wide after retirement and wonder what the area(s) of FFG designed for such housing is like. Any information re. this would be greatly appreciated. We currently live in northwestern PA. Thank you!

Well, yes, they loved it a lot.
In fact, they sold their home, moved to Oregon, and moved back.
All in a year.
The only reason that they moved this time, was because, my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers, and my Neice talked him into moving near her.
I call my Dad almost everyday.
I can't move to Tennessee fast enough.

I understand your need for speed
Thanks again for the info. My father-in-law had Alzheimers. It's a cruel disease. I wish you much speed in your move to Tennessee and many, many good times with your father.

When we were in FFG last summer we were told there are areas that allow manufactured homes, they can't be built everywhere in the area.
I hope I have that right, we were given a lot of info while we were there.
Try:
http://fairfieldglade.cc/_filelib/FileCabinet/ACC/2006_Manufactured_Home_Requirements_3-27-06.pdf?FileName=2006_Manufactured_Home_Requirement s_3-27-06.pdf (broken link)
This is the main page for the site that has the document above:
http://fairfieldglade.cc/fw/main/default.asp
If I find anything else I'll post.

Thanks
I'll be sure to check out the site. I knew manufactured homes were only allowed in certain areas of The Glade but had never read the sctual regs.

FFG & Mfg Homes
Mfg. homes are allowed in a couple of areas and they must still meet the requirements of any other home as far as the setbacks, color, footings/skirts, etc. If checkout their community website at www.fairfieldglade.cc
you can look at the building rules/restrictions. Look under community services, architectural controls, mfg. homes. FFG is a wonderful looking retirement area, but they have lots of restrictions and rules.
Hope this helps..
