Canice is on a distinguished road
We are looking to move to Crossville as well (as soon as we can find a job); my Grandmother already lives there and it is beautiful!!! We are going up there again for vacation coming up in a couple weeks and I cannot wait! It is a very nice, small but not too small town! Seems great for families! We can't wait- the fall colors should be in full swing! Maybe I'll try to post some pics when we get back...

Oh yeah- and I almost forgot; if you want to see more pics of the area, you should go to my mother's realtor's website: Crye-Leike Brown Realty. He has some nice pictures of Fall Creek Falls in the winter (which is actually Pikeville, but they're really close).

Default We waant some info about Crossville

I am reading all these post but don't see anything that is recent? My husband and I are seniors and are going to relocate to the area of Crossville in the next 6 months. We are not really interested in Golf, and I see that is a biggy there, but in the rural area in the valleys of your beautiful area. We are wanteing to buy a house in the $100,000 range or maybe find an acre or two of reasonally priced land to put a new Deer Vally manafactured home on. These are the ones that have 2x6 outside walls and are one of the most sturdy ones built. Does anyone have any sugestions of a pretty area around Crossville that we might check into? Also after reading the post, we know we will be transplants but don't want to come in to change things. We love Tennessee just as it is, just want to live in a little corner of it in our last years so we can enjoy it too. Thanks, Candles

I would just wait till you go and try and figure it out from there. Much of the stuff on line seems to look great, but well it is on line!! I don't have pictures of crossville, as we bought outside of crab orchard.

you might want to try the local sales network site.

Go LSN - Buy, Sell or Trade Locally for all types of goods & services! - Local Sales Network!

Have you been to areas you like already??? I mean it is pretty hard to find a place up there that isn't pretty.

I saw on a different forum :

Lot near the trailer park, large double lot. elec and septic already in.
septic large enough for a single wide trailer. 5K (tansi)

I also have a site that has all the MLS listings in cumberland county. It is a realtor site, and I am in NO WAY endorsing her. It is good for information on properties though.

Please pm me and I would be more than happy to give the phone number for the lot above along with the MLS site. I know they frown on advertising things and I like that rule.

Default loving Crossville

We moved to Crossville from Indiana in September of 2008. We find the area much better than we were led to believe in the information we had gotten. We knew the area was beautiful here because we had made several trips looking around. We were plesantly suprised by the friendleness and helpfulness of the people we have met. Moving here has been a great experience for us. We are retired and not interested in Golf but love fishing and nature so it is the perfect place for us even with all the golf here. We have a wonderful playhouse that produce wonderful musicals, lots of lakes one State park right outside of the city limits, Falls Creek Falls is only about 40 miles away, and many other State parks in the aarea within 40-50 miles. We are located in a triangle between Nashville, Chatannoga and Knoxville, making it an easy drive to all the big cities if we need to go there. The largest city with big shopping centers are only 35 miles away but we find most everything we need here in Crossville. Several nationally known food stores, superwalmart, K-mart and many smaller individual shops. We have only had snow twice and about an inch each time!!! Schools do shut down here with only that amt. of snow though so be prepared for that. We love being close to the mountains and tha fact that we can go anytime we want to here for the day. We love Crossville and think it is a wonderful place to retire.
