We're wanting to retire possibly to Eastern Tennessee in the future and we are wanting to live in a town that has good medical facilities for elder care, lots to do, lots of great festivals and places to plug in to volunteer at. We don't want to live in a far off rural area but somewhere that is safe and that can offer 1-2 acres in a nice area. It would be great to live in a neighboorhood that has a community swimming pool, walking trails, lake, just something for the grandkids when they come to visit. Also, would love to be close to the mountains, see the mountains without living in the mountains. That's alot to ask in a town but we are hoping that there is a town that has most of these surroundings/items to offer. My husband and I are both musical and would like to keep playing in a volunteer community band and do community theater plays and sell crafts at great craft festivals. Does anyone know of a town that has this to offer? Thanks for any info. We just love Tennessee and can't wait to visit again.

Thumbs up North Chattanooga

A: Everything you just asked for is in the posts of Hamilton co, North side of Chattanooga. AlexianBrothers.net should be your elder care. Nixon newspaper today is building $20 million medical offices. Every Thursday night is music JAM in Soddy community center. The June Riverbend festival goes for NINE days just by itself. www.trgt.org has all your walk / hike trails and volunteer.
Soddy cove / possum cove has all your swimming / kids stuff also big county park Chester Frost. Many communities have pool any any realtor should be able to find. Almost every weekend festivals downtown Chattanooga, along with their Convention center, and Tri State Auditorium I-75 towards Cleveland. Wife goes to many arts/ craft fairs with her church.
