Hello All,

My wife and I are visiting Tennessee this fall (October 27 to November 4). If the Forum Get Together takes place during this time, we'll try to make it.
We'll be staying for 3 nights in a cozy, romantic cabin on a lake in Muddy Pond. We can't wait!

It seems like only yesterday I was first on here asking questions about Tennessee. Time really flies when your living in paradise. I'll be watching for a date and place.

I just looked, every Saturday in October is a vols game. Anyone opposed to a Sunday get together? How about October 12th? Anyone have any ideas as to where we should have it?
Do all the state parks have shelters?

I just lifted this off the web page of SMNP

The Park has specific sites set aside for picnicking. Some, including Chimneys, Deep Creek, Cades Cove, and Cosby, remain open year-round. Other sites include Greenbrier, Big Creek, and Collins Creek. Balsam Mountain and Look Rock are closed for renovations. Most picnic areas in the Park have pavilions. To reserve a pavilion, please call 1-800-365-2267. The cost is $ 20.00.

The 81-site Cades Cove picnic area is available with restrooms, fire rings and tables, some of which are wheelchair-accessible. Located before the beginning of the loop road, it closes at 8:00 pm from May through August, and at sunset for the rest of the year. No overnight parking is permitted in the picnic area. No picnic facilities are found along the loop road. Visitors may picnic at other sites without facilities; however, stoves, grills, or other fires are prohibited outside of the picnic area. Feeding wildlife is prohibited throughout the park. Food and trash must be completely removed at the end of each picnic. Food must be properly stored inside vehicles at other times. Drinking water is available at the picnic area, outside the campground store, and at the Cable Mill area.

For a more detailed schedule of picnic area information, check at the Visitor Centers.

Does anyone have a preference for a park? I pick Cades Cove cause I've never been and heard so much about it.
Pam

Cades Cove is awesome! Just because there is a Vols game doesn't mean you can't have a get together on a Saturday. It is good to know when and where they are though for traffic patterns. Also, Saturday of a home game might be a great time to go to Cades Cove because 90,000+ people we know for sure won't be coming through the park.

SMG,
Great point. I just stayed away from a vols saturday game as sometimes we're cooking all day to snack watching the game. The games are an event at our house that need to be prepared for, you know what I mean?
