Their cross eyed. I would presume large rocks and rock out crops and large tree trunks must be a haven for snakes in Tennessee.......
How about wood piles also ? |

I really do not like snakes. Have those of you that moved from Florida seen a whole lot more snakes in Tn. than florida? I have not seen in the TN. papers that people have been killed by snakes.

No, I'm not pulling your chain, just relaying a message that was told to me. I'm sure the possibility exists....

And the only time youll see the white lining of their mouth is if theyre agitated and feel threatened. Until then, it could pass as any other black snake to the untrained eye. That was my point. ![]() |

Seriously, I don't think many people die from snakebite this day and age. Try to relax, and please don't make the possibility of snakes your dealbreaker!
You could always move to the urban centers where they're more seldom seen. |

I killed a 3 foot copperhead last year. I kill them because I have 3 year old twin nephews playing around the farm here and kids have been known to pick the baby copperheads up, thinking they were worms. I usually see the copperheads around August or September, when it's dry and they are crossing our road to find water. I saw a couple ring neck snakes this week. One was right next to my foot, but they're harmless and beneficial. I have seen a black rattle snake. It was in some leaves and I thought it was a black snake till the rattles popped up and started rattling.
The worst thing I've seen here was the wild bore my brother-in-law killed a couple months ago, just behind our house. It was about a year old and nearly two hundred pounds. It was visiting our pig "Petunia." Tisk tisk. |
