You might want to have a just in case backup to anything you plan to do on Center Hill. The Corps of Engineers is starting repairs on the dam this summer and intends to keep pool level about 20' below normal summer levels. They say this won't affect access most of the time but that there will be a few instances when some or all of the ramps are inaccessible.

The whitewater around here depends on dam releases so it's predictable and reliable except in cases of extreme drought. Ocoee River is another popular one. They had the '96 Olympic kayak event there.

If you are going to Center Hill Lake, check out the guys at JB Watercraft. They have an awesome new store on hwy 56 near hurricane marina. They are the top dogs for jet ski and canoe rentals. We rented from them this passed summer and had a great time. They are such nice, friendly people to deal with and the prices were good too. Their service is top notch. their website is waverunnerrentals.com

I found their site for canoes and kayaks too. It's CanoeTheCaney.com ... Awesome site! Good to see something like this in the area.
