another question. what is the knitting scene in cookeville like? well, i'm guessing that there might not be a scene as such, but i am hoping for a local yarn shop (not one of the big craft superstores like michael's) where people get together to chat and knit or at least with a few courses, etc. does anyone know what there is in cookeville (or nearby)?

Not sure about knitting. There are several quilting guilds and classes about. Hobby lobby at one time had different types of classes. I dont know your age but senior citizen centers may have a knitting group. I wouldnt think you would have to be a senior to join in.

I know there is a sewing shop and I think there might be a small knitting shop, too--if it's still around. There are some surprisingly young knitters around here. High school, even!
