Thanks for the update Lisa. I am glad to hear Mike is alright. I can't believe that table and how they didn't make that hole big enough. That is my kind of luck, although i would have tried to get that metal out and I would have busted that table in pieces trying to do it. Lol Have a great week,

Lisa - so glad that Mike wasn't hurt in the ladder mishap! The way you told the story, I had visions of him falling still holding the can of paint! Did he get the green paint all over him - or did he fall in such a way that it didn't spill?
And the table/umbrella saga - I'm like the previous poster, DH & I would have probably busted the table to smithereens trying to get the metal piece out! Y'all did great! Hopefully, he will be able to retrieve the chisel with help.
Thanks again for the update - keep them coming! I'm lovin' your adventure!

Did you determine why the siding etc was wet behind the gutters?
just curious do you have a moisture barrier between your metal roof and the plywood deck such as 30# felt paper? reviewing your build blog i couldnt find the answer myself?

Lisa you and Mike are both just amazing. I love reading your updates and am so glad Mike wasn't hurt when the ladder slid. Have you 2 done work like this before? Because you both really know what you are doing and produce beautiful results! Also, could you please send me some of that energy you both have? .

Your home has certainly come along nicely, even with the many ups and downs and mishaps. Thank goodness Mike is OK after his fall.
What are the chances of you venturing over across to the opposite mountain and taking a photo of your house now that it's painted green? It'd be interesting to see how it blends in with the surroundings.

Yeah!! That would be really cool! Just the trek over would be a story in itself! Wear a helmet!

vacation bound and CA Sweet Pea- I am the same way. If I tried to get the metal insert out I would have cracked the whole table if not worse, lol.
CA SP- Mike actually slid down the ladder while holding onto the paint can. We were lucky on 2 counts. One, he wasn't hurt and two, we didn't end up with green paint all over the patio. Thankfully he was over the grass.
piperspal- Thanks you are so sweet.
ttazzman- When we originally painted the very top of the house behind the gutters it rained shortly after. The wood got a little wet and caused some of the paint to bubble so we had to scrape it off and start over. I hate rainy days, lol.
HawkJ- Good idea about the magnet.
Alaskapat- Thank you so much for writing in. We don't have half as much energy as we did last year. Mike has done many remodeling and building jobs. I have been his best worker for the past 12 years.
Liondandy- Funny you should ask that. Mike and I met a neighbor across the way a couple of weeks ago and I forgot my camera. He told us is wife will say "they painted again", lol. Anyway, I will get a picture as soon as the rain clears up.
See all of you tomorrow. Have a great day.
