Nice update! Glad to know that the fact that your home is built into the hill is keeping it cool in the heat of summer.. I've seen a bunch of earth berm homes and they work really well...

Lisa and Mike, terrific as usual. I'm in awe of your accomplishments. You should seriously consider turning this thread into a book when you are finished. You have a very nice way of explaining the building process and in conjunction with the pictures it's amazing. Keep up the good work. You've got a CD cheering squad rooting for you.

Hello Mike & Lisa,
You guys are doing a great job. When everything is done you will really have something to be proud of for years to come. Enjoy.
I have a silly question, how does the solar panels work if it gets covered with snow? Does it snow where you are?

The location of your new home is absolutely breathtaking, and your house is well on its way to becoming equally breathtaking as well. Thank you so much for sharing this journey with all of us. You have welcomed us all into your life, and shared your ongoing story of manifesting a dream come true.
Like many of your followers, I too have dreamt of building a small off the grid cabin, to retire to, or just use as a weekend escape… but the task always seems so daunting to me. What you have done is 100 times more elaborate than what I am anticipating doing, yet the two of you have accomplished so much, and continue to show all of us what can be done if you just set you mind to the task, and do it… Nothing is impossible if you just take things one step at a time...
Thanks again for sharing your story with us, I look forward to following your story through to completion and celebrating each small success along the way!
Take care,
Greg

Thank you all for continuing to read our story and responding.
Tinman- Thank you for the links. You are the "go to man" for info on this forum. So how do I do multiple quotes when I respond to everyone? I can only do 1 at a time.
Sunnydee- Thank you and I love your "Rules to live by". They are so true. I've always tried to live by #3.
Earthling- We got our solar supplies from NAWS-Northern Arizona Wind and Power. I'm not advertising for them as we don't have much experience with solar companies but they did seem to have good prices.
Fl to Niota- Yes it snows here but not too much. We will just sweep it off the panels. It's a good thing we can easily reach them.
Lisa

Click the " button (just to the right of the quote button) for all but the last quote, then click the Quote button.
Notice how I deleted all but the pertinent text? That helps to keep those huge quotes manageable.
