It's never the wrong time to celebrate a birthday. Celebrate hardy. Happy Birthday!
Having lived on a farm, I know exactly what you are describing when you mention the cows mooing wanting their young back or at least wondering what happened. Sometimes nature and man have little or no understanding when practicality sets in.
Mike must have the patience of a saint to redo all the electrical wiring. I know it is for the best--safety minded.
Once again you have thrilled us with another installment--Chapter 29. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much everyone for your birthday wishes and really nice responses t us moving into our house. Woo Hoo.
Grey_One- Thank you for your wonderful post. I am so glad you enjoyed our story so far. Our original costs on our solar/wind set up has changed drastically. When Mike completes our system I will post the revised figures .
You did great with the CD program. No worries, all the people on the TN forum are awesome .
Ca Sweet Pea- Thank you and I'm happy to share our life. I didn't realize so many people would be interested, LOL.
rtj49, Judy P., katsmeeyow, J&Em, TNbound RN- Thank you all for the well wishes.
DLK- It's not being televised because I was lucky enough to learn how to use the digital camera, LOL. As far as Mike's TV, it hardly uses any power at all. He can't live without the TV and I would be lost without all of you and the Internet.
Pam&Bill- Thank you. The house is coming. Mike will make it functional and I will make it "our home". We are 2 halves to a whole. Isn't that special.
Suzanne 1945- Mike is only re-doing the wiring because he is increasing our system. There were no safety issues. It's just that our original system wasn't producing enough power. Thank you for continuing to read our story.
Have a great night everyone.
Lisa

Happy, happy birthday!
I love the lamps! Once again, I just love your bedroom furniture.
I know what you mean by downsizing. Once upon a time I had a lot of stuff and a place to put it in. Then life happened and I had neither stuff or a place. For years, I lived in some very bizarre and tiny spaces.
That may be why I am having such difficulty with decorating, furnishing and landscaping my new home. I now know that nothing is permanent.
It is a good lesson.
Thank you for all that you have shown us. It is wonderful!

Thank you again. I also know what you mean. When I moved in with Mike e told me a couple of things. Don't spend a lot of money on the house and furnishings and don't get too comfortable because life always changes. Sure enough "our" life always changes. We've known each other over 30 years but the 10 that we have lived together have been quite adventurous. We've owned 7 different houses, lived in the motorhome, re-done 2 properties and had 2 businesses. Who knows what our future holds but it has been quite a journey.
I hope things work out great for you in this house. Take your time and as you become more comfortable you will find the perfect things to make "your house a home". Don't worry about tomorrow "too" much. Enjoy what you make of your life today.
Lisa

Happy Birthday, Lisa! I feel, and I'm sure everyone else who's been following your wonderful story does too, as though we're all good friends. You and Mike are such a great couple and your chemistry together is what I want for my kids to have in their marriages. So I hope you wont think I'm being nosy when I ask for maybe a bit of info about you two...how you met, how long you've been married, etc. I understand if you dont want to answer such personal questions (and, in that case, i apologize for asking) but you have such a warm, witty way of writing that I think everyone would enjoy reading about it.

This is a little of our background. Mike and I both grew up on Long Island. Mike is 8 years older than I am. We have known each other for 32 years. Our families knew each other. Mike used to warn me about boys and dating when I was younger and he also took me for my for my driver's license. He was like a big brother and we were always friends.
While I was in school Mike got married and moved on. I grew up, went to school, and eventually got married. He and his family lived in FL and I lived in NY. We still occasionally stayed in contact. About 14 years ago Mike told me he was moving to NC. I was going through my divorce and thought I would check out another state to start over. I had to work so I settled in Hickory, NC. Mike moved to the mountains. After his divorce was finalized we started seeing each other. We realized that it was the right time in both of our lives to be together. We never saw ourselves as a "couple". That was over 10 years ago and we are as happy as can be. I know I finally found my soul mate. He knows it too .

Happy belated! My wife said if I have to do any big paint job like you did on the outside, she's going to put numbers up for me! lol I also did a double take when I saw your bed spread and pillow shams. We've got the same one! Walmart has some good stuff, doesn't it? lol
