I was thinking they should make a sledding hill for the grand kids to go down. I used to go to a camp that had a HUGE sliding hill that went 600 yards down a hill to a lake. We spent hours sledding. The camp would build walls with the snow to form a track to direct you down a path. There were hair pin turns, jumps, and forks so you could go different ways. What a blast. Lisa and Mike even have cows! Im thinking moving obstacles!

Hi Lisa & Mike & Nikki! Still keeping up with your thread. That idea for the escape hatch was really creative. Good luck with your wood stove install.

Perhaps, (in case of fire) buy some breathing masks similar to what Firefighters use. You don't have as many Exits as a conventional house.

Be Safe.

An idea for cooling your container/shed. Check out some marine supply places/sites. For the sailing crowd they make self contained vents with solar powered fans. No wires, no outside power sources. To install all one needs to do is cut the correct sized hole. A couple of these would provide ample ventilation and pull cool air up from the vents in the floor.

Wow! I discovered your thread a few weeks back, and it has taken a few minutes each day to read through the entire story. I have lots of thoughts which were generated along the way--perhaps i can even remember a few of them.

Lisa, I'm envious and have been wanting to do this sort of thing for quite a while except I wanted to do it in the Southwest and even recycle my own water. Good luck to you and Mike and enjoy your paradise.
