COOKEVILLE -- The activity around Mahler Avenue in downtown Cookeville is looking to pick up in the next few weeks as local farmers get ready for the start of the peak summer growing season.

Everything from the traditional selection of tomatoes, green beans and corn to berries, peaches and apples should be available for sale at the community farmers market, entering its seventh year at its current location.
