We, too are considering a move to the Manchester area next spring. We work from home, doing website design & hostingModerator cut: cutso are not concerned about jobs in the area. We are past the "child at home" stage, so schools are also not a consideration. We DO need to be within range of cable or DSL internet!
What we would prefer would be to find a 3+ BR home to rent in the country, someplace I can plant a garden. Can anyone recommend a realtor/property management company who would handle that type of property? We don't necessarily need to be in Manchester....any of the areas between Murfreesboro & Chattanooga will work for us.
I have bookmarked the Manchester Times and will check it out as we get closer in time. Are there other local newspapers that I might also check? Any suggestions and comments are welcome!
Feel free to contact us offline if you prefer at Moderator cut: please DM info
Thanks!
Cindy

Snooping here as the miracle has happened and we have sold our Florida home. We spent some time last summer in middle Tennessee, especially liked the Tullahoma area. (Maybe there's some reminders of Oregon around there, our original home for many year).
Wondering if there is a community college close by for some adult classes? Nothing serious, at our age it is about keeping the mind working, maybe woodworking, stained glass, local history, etc.
We will be living in our motorhome there arriving about April, and also wonder if there are any RV parks in the area besides the big KOA on the highway in Manchester. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Motlow State Community College is located right outside of Tullahoma in Moore County (Lynchburg), home of Jack Daniels.

Normally we are not supposed to discuss moderation on the public forum but since you can't remember I want to help. You posted the name, company and phone number for a realtor. That type of information should be DM'd to someone when requested. You can find more information on that and other forum rules here: http://www.city-data.com/forumtos.html
If I can help further please let me know.

Middle TN has some beautiful small towns, cities and country. Here's a link to all the community colleges in TN [url="http://www.tennessee.gov/thec/2004web/division_pages/institution_pages/thecp1_3.html"]

Thank you jmt, sirshrek, and Suzanne1945. We are following these leads, and scouring the real estate listings on the web for this area. I looked up the course offerings at Motlow, and appreciate the help.
We visited Lynchburg once a few years ago - for the "big tour". Beautiful area. The RV park review on line said that the RV park looked abandoned last time they were there, and might be closed now. We will call for information. I found a Bed and Breakfast in Shelbyville area with 8 RV sites, and will check that out as well. Don't know how long we will need an RV park, hopefully we can find the property we like before long.
I DID notice that overnight temperatures are dipping toward freezing this week - what an experience THAT will be! We are so anxious to have a vegetable garden again!. All this looking forward while there are piles of boxes left to fill and take to storage! thanks again.

Other than the C.D. Stamps rec center, their's also the D.W. Wilson rec center on Cedar lane that has a weight room, gym, swimming pool, game room, and ball fields in that general area, along with the library, and health dept.. I wouldn't suggest any bars for a child that age in anywhere in Tullahoma.

But in all seriousness, your answer was just fine. I'm not a moderator, but I'm pretty sure you posted your suggestion in the right place.
